Job Description:
- As an Instrumentation Technician, you are responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting measurement and control systems within a utilities plant. You ensure that faults are resolved quickly and that installations continue to operate safely and efficiently.You work on both preventive and corrective maintenance and play a key role in supporting production continuity.
Your responsibilities include:
- Performing maintenance on instrumentation and control systems
- Troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation faults
- Working with systems such as Honeywell and Siemens PLCs
- Calibrating instruments and performing measurements (gas, oxygen, thermocouples)
- Carrying out seal testing and calibration activities
- Adjusting, isolating, and disconnecting valves
- Installing temporary bypasses and overbridges
- Identifying and “punching” technical issues for follow-up
- Supervising and guiding contractors on-site
- Ensuring safe work execution (Permit to Work, LMRA, ATEX)
- Reporting work accurately in SAP
You work closely with production, engineering, and planning to continuously improve maintenance execution and plant reliability
Requirements:
- A Red Seal in Electrical or Instrumentation Technician (or equivalent)
- Several years of experience in an E&I maintenance environment
- Experience with Honeywell systems and Siemens PLCs
- Strong knowledge of measurement and control systems
- Experience with calibration, sensors, and instrumentation
- Knowledge of gas detection, oxygen measurements, and thermocouples
- Experience working in ATEX environments
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation faults
- Experience supervising contractors
- Strong safety awareness and sense of responsibility
- Willingness to work on-call shifts
