Role Overview

• As a Superyacht Mechanic, you will be responsible for the precise installation and assembly of essential mechanical components on world-class superyachts. You will work as part of a highly skilled team, ensuring that all systems are mounted, tested, and adjusted to perfection
• From installing intricate door systems and anchor winches to setting up communication and navigation equipment, you will play a crucial role in bringing these remarkable vessels to life

Key Responsibilities

• Mount and fine-tune various doors (watertight, fireproof, sliding, and swing doors)
• Install and adjust hatches and stainless-steel railings
• Prepare and install mechanical components in the workshop before onboard commissioning
• Assemble and set up anchor and winch systems
• Install communication and navigation systems in the yacht’s mast
• Ensure all components are installed according to technical drawings and quality standards
• Monitor safety conditions in the workplace and ensure compliance with regulations
• Identify and solve technical challenges that arise during installation

Candidate Requirements

• Calling all South Africans and experience personnel in UK and EU
• Fluent in English (dutch lessons offered)
• Valid South African passport and or EU passport
• Advantageous If already based in EU
• Experience in mechanical installation or system assembly (shipbuilding, automotive, industrial machinery, etc.)
• Trade / Red Seal or equivalent experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• High level of precision and quality in assembly work
• Positive, problem-solving mindset and ability to adapt to challenges
• Willingness to work across different locations
• New to yacht building? This role is ideal for skilled professionals from related industries, such as automotive mechanics, installation technicians, or machine builders, looking to transition into the exciting world of luxury yacht construction
