Job Description

Purpose of the Role:

The Junior Key Account Manager will maintain, grow and expand relationships with specific key customers. As well as maintain and establish productive and professional relationships with internal and external customers.  Implement a joint and strategic key account plan to meet performance objectives and financial targets. Prepare various reports, quarterly sales results, annual forecasts and account status reports.

Analyse sales data and implement Category Management principles. Support regional agent (S&C Agencies) in the Western Cape region to maintain and grow customer base. This will include joint sales calls, new product placements, overseeing promotional activities, monthly inventory checks. Seek new business opportunities in the Western Cape region. Conduct service calls to corporate accounts (i.e. Buco stores)

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ sales and marketing experience in a retail industry
  • Key/Corporate accounts experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a sales team
  • Forecasting and budgeting skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the sales process
  • Knowledge of cost price, selling price, and margins and the ability to assess problems and develop and implement solutions.
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills

Other Requirements:

  • Reliability
  • Must be in possession of a reliable vehicle.
  • Develop and maintain key customer plans that support budgetary requirements through participation in the annual integrated planning process.
  • Identify sales opportunities, assess, validate and clarify customer needs on an ongoing basis in the region.
  • Develop timeously and accurate forecasts in accordance with the allocated budgets (volume and spend) for assigned accounts, revise throughout the year.
  • Create a solution based Key Customer Plan for each allocated account.
  • Prepare and deliver effective feedback reports (measure and monitor)
  • Implement approved activities, promotional plans, merchandising, new product listings and customer penetration plans with the regional agent to ensure smooth execution.
  • Facilitate product training.
  • Develop and implement key growth commercial strategies, tactics and action plans.
  • Manage, monitor and measure KGI’s of regional sales agent.
  • Spend 80% of time in field with customers
