Beauty Salon Receptionist
Reporting to Manager/Owner
Job Type: Full-time
Job Summary:
The Beauty Salon Receptionist is the first point of contact for clients and plays a key role in providing exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for welcoming guests, managing appointments, answering inquiries, and supporting the smooth operation of the salon. The receptionist ensures a warm and inviting atmosphere while efficiently handling administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
Greet clients warmly and ensure they feel welcome.
Answer phone calls and respond to emails promptly, providing information on salon services and pricing.
Manage client inquiries, appointments, and follow-ups via phone, and salon software.
Handle client check-ins, confirm appointments, and provide information on salon policies.
Appointment Management:
Schedule and confirm appointments using salon management software.
Coordinate the availability of beauty professionals.
Ensure the reception area and waiting areas are neat and welcoming at all times.
Payments and Retail:
Process payments accurately (cash, credit card, mobile payments) and issue receipts.
Promote and sell salon retail products and treatments.
Assist clients with product recommendations based on their needs.
Administrative Support:
Keep client records up-to-date in salon software, including contact details and service preferences.
Help with salon promotions and gift certificates.
Track inventory of retail products and assist in reordering as necessary.
Salon Operations Support:
Notify beauty professionals when clients arrive.
Assist with handling and resolving customer complaints or issues professionally.
Help manage the salon’s social media presence by providing content or feedback.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in customer service or receptionist duties, preferably in a salon, spa, or beauty-related environment an advantage (will look at a mature school leaver or college leaver who wants a career in this industry space)
Proficiency in using salon management software (experience with SalonBridge preferred).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Friendly, professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
Knowledge of beauty industry services and products is an advantage, but not necessary
Ability to handle cash and card transactions accurately.
Comfortable with computers.
Working Conditions:
Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, alternative Saturdays 8am – 2pm
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods as needed.
Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment.
