Job Description

Financial Accountant

Our Client is The Leader in Industrial Chemicals


The purpose of this positio is to ensure that financial information and reports are received from all relevant departments and that any Company financial information is available at all times. The FA will provide support to the FM and wider finance team by helping to prepare financial statements, accounts, budgets, processing invoices and preparing VAT returns. To be a key member of the finance team who are responsible for the finalisation of month-end and year-end accounts


Minimum Education, Certification and Training:

  • Grade 12 or FET/HET certificate • Bcom in Accounting, Finance or relevant field


Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with finance regulations
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks)
  • Organization skills and Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information.
  • HFM and Omni (Added advantage)
  • Manufacturing / Industrial chemicals an advantage, not necessary, manufacturing experience an advantage. Studying of has CIMA huge advantage

Job Responsibilities:

  • Bank Reconciliation (Statement, Petty Cash, Credit Cards, etc.)
  • Month End Journals
  • Various Balance Sheet and payroll Reconciliations
  • Own rebate and commission payout schedule
  • Stock take, inventory costing and management
  • Prepare the company annual budgets/forecast, compare and review variance of actual

To budget

  • Prepare/review monthly management accounts including analysis/commentary.
  • VAT return
  • Updating and reconciling of fixed asset registers, CAPEX, and depreciation
  • Manage intercompany receivables/payables.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Assistance with Financial analysis for operations and support functions
  • Load HFM and preparation of group management accounts
