Our client in the Construction Chemical Industry is looking for a Fireproofing Technical Sales Representative to join their dynamic team!

Commercial fireproofing and firestopping national sales representative.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the construction industry and stakeholders involved, and as a result be able to prospect projects and service base clients. They should be well organized and be able to manage the daily operations of assigned accounts. In order to continue to generate revenue, this candidate should be able to uncover new client needs and find a way to add value to their business.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing of the firestopping and fireproofing product ranges to various stakeholders in the industry, including contractors, sub-contractors, estimators and fire engineers
  • Sales and commercial management of the various products within the range
  • Liaising with product developers to stay current with market requirements, product design, testing and certification
  • Technical management of the various products within the range, including preparation of specifications and presentations to specifiers, including engineers
  • Preparation of basic detail drawings to accompany specifications
  • Theoretical and practical training of subcontractors for installation of the various systems
  • Research and find building projects and other opportunities to promote and increase sales

Qualifications

  • An engineering, quantity surveying or architectural degree or diploma with 1-3 years’ experience in the construction industry will be beneficial
  • Experience in commercial building projects will be advantageous
  • Basic steelwork design capabilities and knowledge of relevant terminology
  • Ability to produce basic sketches in CAD
  • An understanding of construction terminology
  • An understanding of the interplay between the various role players/stakeholders in the
  • construction industry
  • Must be organised and professional, have excellent people skills, be confident and persistent
  • Must be comfortable preparing and delivering presentations and training sessions
  • Must be prepared to travel in African (and other) countries
  • Must be fluent in English and one other SA language
